When exercising, how can I take care of my back?

How can I learn to take care of my body instead of overeating, consuming junk food, not exercising, etc.?

    Spend a couple of days with a diabetic. Watch what they can eat and still keep their blood glucose in healthy range. Watch them inject their insulin, or do it for them. Let them explain what the pills are for (cholesterol, high blood pressure, insulin balance, vitamins, etc, etc.). Read food labels for them and figure out which ones has the right balance of low carbs, low sodium, low calories, high protein, and potassium. Prepare a few meals for them by the rules of their diet. See what the portion sizes are that they can safely eat. Exercise with them and carry their emergency snack in case they have a hypoglycemic episode.  Don't forget your cell phone for emergencies. Check their feet for any signs of injuries or neuropathy. Drive them around because a hypo- or hyper- glycemic episode behind the wheel could be catastrophic. Go to their next check up with them and find out if their A1C is up or down and what that means. Now, go home and have a nice lunch then begin your work-out regimen.
