An NPs need to first get their bachelor's (four-year) degree and get experience in the field before attending grad school for a master's degree in NP which may take about six years of college if attending on a full-time basis. Just fyi that the nursing (and social work/counseling) field is supposed to have a high (emotional) burn-out rate.
