How can I not be scared of injections!?

when i had them (2 years ago) it was only 1 at that age. they will stick it in your non writing arm. you will be sat down so it makes it easy. looking away from the needle helps. you could ask the nurse a question whilst she is giving it (something random) but a good nurse will ask you a question. this will act as distracting stimulus. if it is more than one just do the same again but i'm sure it is only one.

You can't have 19 injections! When the doctor injects you just close your eyes and open them again and just wait for it to finish. That's what I do.

Needles and injections are only painful for a limited amount of time based upon your own anxiety of them. Sometimes just the thought of getting one is worse than the injection itself. If you have to have one, and nothing is worse that having one done to do dental work, is a trick called referred pain, where you dig your nails into the softest part of your arm, while the injection is being given. Your body will concentrate on the pain in that specific area, and when the injection is applied, it won't hurt nearly as much or not at all.
