How to heel blister faster?

How to heel a blister?

  • Answer:

some people prefer to lance them and some people prefer to keep them intact. if you lance it what i was told was that you should heat a thin needle under a flame (to kill germs let it cool before doing) then thread the needle.you then put the needle through the blister near the surface and slowly and gently pull it out letting the thread absorb the liquid. The swelling will go down and it will be less pain-full. the down side is that this is now an open wound so you should protect it with either a plaster or a sterile dressing. if you want to keep it intact (i recommend this as there is less chance of it getting infected) put a blister plaster on it and don't wear tight shoes if it is on your foot. if the blister is on a curved area of skin (like the foot) try not to crease the plaster too much when you put it on as this could make it more likely to fall off/give you sore spots.

Other answers

Keep it clean, and protect it from further rubbing e.g. by wearing a soft shoe or sandal, or covering it with a protective dressing - you can buy gel coverings from supermarket or pharmacy which are great. Avoid getting another one by checking the shoes which gave you the blister - again, you can buy gel inserts to stop them hurting your feet.

Supposedly, you're not to pop a blister (but I think everybody does- its just so tempting) and they heal on their own.
