Will I need Sims 1 & 2 to play Sims 3?

No. It'll be a sequel. It doesnt happen, cuz they want as many ppl to buy it as possible. Sims 2 got far more sales than sims1, and theyre predicting the same for the third 1, so they wont want to limit themselves to just the sims 2 owners. Also, theres a more mundane, technical reason for it. The game engine wil have been changed, possibly replaced for sims 3, so there's no need for the sims 2 engine to be on the computer.
