Is humsurfer.com a socialbookmarking site?? how are its results indexed so fast?

Why do some websites that have the same amount of pages indexed for the same amount of pages as another site, and yet, that site gets found for so many more keywords?

  • Ex. Site A has 2,000 pages indexed, and site B has 2,000 pages indexed. Site A gets found for 10,000 keywords, and site B gets found for only 2,000 keywords. I realize that each niche is different, but if the pages on site A and B are optimized using best practices for on-page optimization, why does this situation occur?

  • Answer:

On-page is just a part of the story. There is link building, social signals, content quality and so that determines rankings

On page factors definitely do move the needle, but that's only one aspect of SEO. You have to take into consideration linkbuilding; which isn't just have thousands of links point randomly to your site but rather having a strategic campaign targeting topically relevant and high quality links to point to specific areas on your website. Also, buzz. This is when social media does come into play. Search engines take into consideration people's social behavior and how they react to your website. If they feel it's worth sharing and/or acknowledging then that is going to have more weight than merely having a website/page up and running. Hope that helps!
