Anyone got the new windows live messenger?

I got an offline message from Windows Live(TM) Messenger Service Staff, can anyone please explain it to me?

  • the message says: Important service announcement: As part of a recent system enhancement, we need you to change your e-mail address to continue signing in to the Windows Live(TM) ...show more

  • Answer:

If you change your email address how will your contacts know your new address ?????? Sounds a bit suspicious to me !!!! I'd keep my current one. Test it's working OK by sending an email to yourself.

The url linked to it is genuine. There is no reason why a phishing attempt would direct you back to a legit website. The answer is much simpler... 1st of April prank anyone? Seems MS has a sense of humor after all... ^_^

I also got that offline message. It doesn't make any sense to me... because, if there was really something wrong with my e-mail, they should send me an e-mail, not some random instant message. And I went to the link that it gave me and read it over... and I'm confused as to why the don't tell us the REASON for this. Unless of course they did, and I completely missed it... let me know if you found anything.
