Answer:
A high school diploma's only worth is that of a certificate to show off. It is your SAT scores, transcripts etc that matter. Homeschoolers do not need an accredited diploma. If you want that fancy piece of paper to show off you can order one from: http://www.homeschooldiploma.com/ Trust me, no one will ask to see the piece of paper, nor will they ask if you graduated from an accredited school. They will only ask if you graduated high school. ETA: Also please do not get your GED. Getting the GED only furthers the false the stereotype that homeschooling is just another name for dropping out of school. ETA: your parents do not have to file as a private school to be able to issue you a high school diploma. As long as yo have followed the home school laws in your area, they can issue you a diploma once you complete high school. ETA: no a diploma will not increase your chances of getting into college. You transcripts and SAT/ACT (or other entrance exams) are what affect your chances. Colleges realize that homeschoolers often do not have the traditional documents, so most now have provisions in place to accommodate homeschoolers.

I am glad I graduated early. I used Penn Foster, and I graduated early. It is an accredited program, and you will earn an accredited diploma. I am fourteen and have graduated high school. I am an overachiever, so it only took me about five months and six days to graduate all four years of high school. I have started college courses at a local community college, and I have a part time job. I understand why you want to graduate early, because I wanted to graduate early for the same reason :] I applied for thirteen major universities and got into all of them. I am not going to go to college until I am eighteen. I got into Harvard, Yale, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, James Madison University, Stanford and seven others. I would go for a diploma. :] I hope my information was useful.

It does not sound like you are getting the proper home schooling education. To get into college, everyone needs to take the SAT's or the ACT's and of course graduate from high school. You have lots of time and you need to mature before taking on more work.

I am graduating early too and do online school. Call or email your guidance counselor or grad planner and find out how many more credits you need so you can figure out how to grad early.

Are you in one of the states where your parents form a private school in order to legally homeschool? If so, then they may graduate you from high school whenever they want to, and issue you a diploma created on your home computer. Put it in a frame. Done. You only need a GED if you plan to join a union as an apprentice. So much depends on what career you have your heart set on, and what the requirements are for entering that career field. Find that out, and you have the answer to your question. Our son started taking college classes when he was 15 at the local community college. You don't have to have a high school diploma to start taking college classes. You just have to have the knowledge and background to thrive in a college-level course. Most colleges will give placement tests for English, math and a foreign language, and then admit you to take the appropriate level courses. (With the economy in the state it is in, it may be harder for younger students to get into college classes, but it can't hurt to ask.) It can pay to stay as a "high school student" rather than to be "graduated" right now. You can still start working on your career, but your status as a "high school student" with good grades may keep your car insurance down, and may help you get discounts at community college. So make sure you really NEED a diploma at this time. Ann Zeise A to Z Home's Cool http://homeschooling.gomilpitas.com

Well since you're homeschooled you won't get a diploma unless your state gives them out. Take the SAT or ACT and go to college early. http://www.hoagiesgifted.org/early_college.htm If you don't plan on going to college early, there really isn't a reason to "graduate" early. But you're homeschooled, you're in charge of your own education and can learn as much as you want. http://lowryhousepublishers.com/TeenageLiberationHandbook.htm
