How do you slide your foot up in a Ollie?

Why can't I slide my foot up?! Help! It been weeks I still can't ollie! ?

  • Is it because I don't wear skate shoe? I use sneaker for skating now. But when I try to slide it keep sticking on my board!!!!!! HELP ME! SOB!!!!

    Shoes don't make a difference. I can ollie barefoot or wearing thongs. Anyway, when you ollie, jump in the air after slamming the back down, THEN slide your front foot out. Here it is in steps: 1. Push the tail of the board down HARD 2. Right before it hits the ground, jump in the air and slide your front foot out. 3. Stay on the board so you dont fall off. Dont push down while sliding your foot up. That'll make it grip too much. You'll get it after a while. If you're using a crap board and you dont really care about it, you could take off the griptape but that's up to you. Good luck, practice makes perfect.

I'm with Daniel S on this one, but he only described on how to do an ollie your problem may not actually be the ollie itself... when you ollie do you feel nervous like you're gunna fall ? stop feeling like that in skating you have to take risks.. also for a skate shoe, ask for christmas for etnies or dc's whatever skate shoe brand you want, those work the best for the skaters I know..Also figure out what stance you are on the board, thats a big step.. [= If you skate better with your left foot on the board and your right on the ground pushing your stance is regular, if it's the exact opposite with left foot on the ground and right on the pavement your stance is "goofy" anyways, hope I helped have fun skating.
