What is the marketing career and what do you do?

What are the pros and cons of taking a lateral movement in my career now? From marketing & brand management to sales, also what will be my career path.

• I have 8 years of experience of which 7 years are in marketing, brand management of FMCG brand in India and Middle East. Currently I am Sr. Brand Manager; I have option of moving within my organisaton as Sales Manager  for UAE and Oman, as part of job rotation. Should I be accepting it?   There are numerous factors to consider, your current company, Industry organizational Structure and your desired career to name a few. The easiest answer would be to choice what you like doing the best as it relates to your duties. If you choice the one you enjoy the most it's hard to go wrong. You will ultimately be happier and even more successful. One last thing to consider it (generally speaking) sales is one of the hard professions when it comes to switching industries and may limit your options in the future as opposed to Marketing and Brand Management.
