What is the best launch strategy for a travel startup?

Everything from launch logistics (ie. what day/time to launch) to marketing strategy to how to get blogs to write about you would be much appreciated. (ex. If it would be best to spend money to fly into San Francisco and go door to door from one blog's office to the next, I want to know!)
