Is it possible to hook up a HD cable box to a regular tv?

I just bought an hdtv and i will like to know if i can hook it up to the hd cable box or to the tv?

    I agree with bang. Use hdmi to the tv and optical to the receiver. Unless your receiver doesnt accept optical then just use the white and red rca connections. Unless you have an hdmi receiver then connect the hdmi and the optical from the cable box to the receiver and run the hdmi out of the receiver to the tv. And if you have a ps3 or 360 with hdmi you run that and the optical from each source to the receiver to work on the tv.

I'm assuming you're talking about hooking HD cable to an HDTV and a Audio Reciever. For best results, connect the audio outputs from the HD Cable Box into the Audio Receiver and the video outputs into the HDTV. This will cause the speakers to play the sound from the cable box, and the HDTV will show the picture.
