Which speakers do I need for my turntable?

I just got a SoundDesign turntable that had no speakers. It says on the back 8.0 min with slots for left and right speakers. What am I looking for here? What should I search for? ...show more

Sounds like what you have is more of a compact system with a built-in amp, volume control, etc... The 8.0 min. means you need to use 8 Ohm speakers. Most home stereo speakers are 8 Ohm. So, what you need is just a small, inexpensive pair of 8 Ohm stereo speakers and some speaker wire, 16 or 14 gauge should work nicely. Full-Range speaker! But you need a decent stereo amplifier to drive the speakers and to hook in the turntable. For speaker brands check out polk audio, b&w. Model depends on your budget.
