    If you have the software of any previous printer and even the software of the present printer uninstall it. Note: USB printers may be USB 2.0. They may be either 1.1 or 2.0 . compatiable . USB 1.1 is the slower standard and the older PC only have this port . Today PC have both 1.1 and 2.0. You can use a 2.0 USB device in a USB 1.1 port but performance will degenerate and windows will fuss about it. Asking you to use 2.0. USB1.1 device will not work in a 2.0 USB port . First ID the proper port for the USB printer and when windows asks for the drivers than install the downloaded drivers.
