Will a regular printer print on the photo paper?

Will a 800x600 photo print perfect on standard printer paper?

  • im talking of normal printer paper

  • Answer:

It depends upon the "size" of the photo. If it is a standard web graphic it will have a resolution of between 72 and 95 dpi (dots per inch) because it is used only for a monitor screen, and if the monitor is also 800x600 the photo will be displayed at around 8 inches across. A printer's resolution can range from around 300 dpi at the low end and can go to 2400 dpi and up at the high end. So, the same 800x600 photo would range from around 2 1/2 inches across to only 1/4 inch across on a printed page, depending upon the printer. You should adjust the size of your photo in your image editing application before you print. And, if you use plain paper it will appear washed out. Use glossy paper for best results.

While photos will always look better on glossy photo paper, results on plain paper should be quite good.
