What is the difference between HD TV and HD ready TV?

Buying a new TV. whats the difference between "HD Ready", or "HD 1080p".?

    Answer is lines iof resolution HD Ready = 768 x 1080 lines on the screen (Potential) Full HD = 1080 x 1920 lines on the screen (Potential) Benefit = There isn't one unless you're watching a Full HD signal coming from a Blu Ray Player, Sky HD Box, or PS3 Much of a difference - Only if you're watching one of the above Set top box - You need one of the above Regards Boris

HD-ready means that the TV can display up to 1080i resolution (but not 1080p) and it does not have a digital tuner. So, you have to hook it up to some kind of device that demodulates the broadcast or cable-cast digital signal (cable or satellite box, DVD player, etc.).
