What beaches in California have white sand?

At the beaches in california can I let my children play in the sand without worrying about scorpions etc?

    There are no Scorpions on California beaches. They are more common out in the desert. Remember that the ocean is the habitat of some species that will bite or sting, but those are RARE events. Your children will probably be in more jeopardy from the polluted water of some beaches than from creepy crawlies. The cleanest and safest beaches are usually in Orange County, especially Laguna, Newport, and Bolsa Chica as rated by a local environmental organization.

I'd be more concerned with litter in the sand than any creature. The chances of running into any of those mentioned above are quite minimal. Definitely no scorpions.
