How big do you see the game developing in a decade time? AFL?

Not a great deal. The AFL may realise their mistake with GWS and pull out which would be good then they devote their resources to put sides in the ACT, Tasmania and Northern Territory. Internationally, no. The international rules game against Ireland is a joke. The AFL and players association have to realistically look at player wages and more importantly funding and development for juniors, rural and urban leagues.

1. Would the game reach some parts of the world? Yes, but we won't see any impact in Australia. 2. Pay raises. Yes, I have predicted the 1M/year contract will be routinely given out within 10 years. However the playing career of a player will still be short. The game is too hard and fast, injuries will still be a deciding factor as far as how far a player can go. 3. Rule changes. Rules are modified all the time. In reality there are not many new rules, just modifications and clarifications of existing rules. One area which still hasn't been fully stabilised is sub and interchange. I suggest changes will occur with more players allowed on interchange. 4. How far do you think the game will come? I think there will be a wider TV audience with greater revenue sharing between all clubs. I do think betting on games will have to be looked at, I think betting will expand, but betting on individual players performance will be eliminated by then. 5. Intangibles. I think the size and speed of a player will continue to evolve, like in many sports. a 6 ft tall athlete who can run is now almost entry level. I suggest the good small man will have disappeared by then. PEDS. I see some leniency and legalization on many of the current supplements. As long as the drug isn't life threatening, and it improves performance, I see PEDS being accepted across many sports. I also see probably 2-3 clubs folding or merging by then. I see the blowout games as a long term embarassment to the AFL, so eventually that will be addressed.
