    In the UK you have to have Solicitors training before you can become a Barrister. I suggest you google both professions.

It is up to you. Ultimately, I think it is important that you pick the job that you will enjoy more - not what pays more or what takes longer to train in etc. At the end of the day, job satisfaction and enjoyment is much better than the practicalities of a job.
