Corporate. If a company makes a lot of money on something (product or service) and they outpace their competitors, a lot of smaller companies will try to file legal procedings - patent infringement cases and so forth - in an attempt to slow the big company down. You also have a lot of product liability issues that result in lots of litigation. Major coporations keep legal teams on staff to handle these constant lawsuits. And, they pay them well. Certainly more than a prosecutor or public defender would make. Unless you get yourself some high-profile cases - and win them - you probably won't have the kind of success that a defense attorney like, say, a Johnie Cochran had where you can make more money than being a corporate attorney.
