Can an editorial be an interview?

How can one perform well in an interview when the interviewer is inept?

• I recently had a campus interview with a big US based IT company. They had three rounds of interview, two of which I did very well in. In the third one (a technical interview on CS stuff), interviewer seemed sort of unskilled. He was not able to clear some crucial points, was unable to understand my solution, and lacked communication skills. Within 10 minutes of the interview I knew this guy is going to ruin the interview, and that's what happened for the next 50 minutes. Result : I didn't make it through the interview round. Could I have done something on my part to save the interview?

  Flattery. People will believe anything as long as you praise them. Especially inept people. So when you realize that the person is not good at his or her trade but you want them to like you just start praising them and sucking up. It ends well for you because you get the job with no harm done.
