Is it harder for a brown guy to become a pilot?

  You will always hear a one of two extremes: 1. do what pays better, 2. do what you love regardless of pay. The fact of the matter is that you have to make decisions in life taking into account multiple factors. In this instance, you need to find a balance between pay and happiness while on the job that works best for you. What's more important to you, happiness while working or happiness during leisure time? If you take a job you love that doesn't pay as well you're sacrificing flexibility with your free time; but, if you choose a high paying job you hate then you will be miserable while working. For most people, the ideal solution is looking for a job that's not on either end of the spectrum. Find a job that you enjoy or can at least tolerate doing full time (even if it's not your dream job) which will allow you to lead the kind of life-style you feel comfortable leading. I would like to point out, that doing business doesn't mean going onto wall street (in fact, most wall street bankers went to ivy league schools and work around 100 hours a week). You could consider some sort of compromise in which you worked within the corporate part of an airline company for example. You would likely make more money and have greater upward mobility than if you were a pilot, but you could still work with planes and airlines and be around what interests you (just a though).
