How can you change/hide your IP address?

Well changing your IP adress depends on many factors, Administrative rights, Network privilages. May be you have administrative access, but the infrastructure of the network may not be designed such that you can accomodate your own IP. You cannot change your IP adress, usually when you're having a DHCP server over the internet, how ever, you can try releasing and then renewing the IP adress, by using the following commands at command prompt ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew you cannot run these command untill you dont have administrative right on the workstation or unless you dont have rights to run these commands. It is not neccessary that your IP address may be changed, because usually the DHCP server saves the MAC address of the network card and assigns the IP address accordingly. So you usually get the same IP address. But still server settings may effect my above statement. You cannot hide your IP address, and even if you can you will have trouble accessing the Network. As for security, yes you can stop the ping response by configuring the IP adapter. you can do it only in Windows NT technology version of windows. But the easy way is to put a Anti spyware...that should do the trick.

there is a program you can download that is called hide ip it hides your ip so it can not be picked up by a browser or a packet sniffer

you can use a program called freedom, you can to this website: http://www.your-freedom.net/ or better yet, you can use a firewall program or a router.

From what i know, you can not change your IP adress. It's like your computers internet DNA.. if that makes any sence. You should be able to hid itthough, i just dont know.
