  • Can anyone help me fix this as it is doing my head in!!!! I like my IE as it has my Google homepage on it, I've BT Broadband with Yahoo, but everytime I try to click on a link it ...show more

  • Answer:

Try resetting Internet Explorer back to default settings. Click Tools, Internet Options. Click on the Advanced Tab. On the Advanced page next to reset Internet Explorer default settings...click Reset, Apply, then OK. Follow any remaining instructions. Just remember that the more bells and whistles you add to Internet Explorer, the slower it will run until it crashes(freezes).

Sell your computer to a idiot and buy an Apple Mac. With Safari internet browser its so much better then a Windows Pc

the last lot of updates addressed issues with access to your computer using tcpip the method used by the internet and - to be fair most networks these days. mine to went pearshaped after the last update and i have rolled it back and turned off auto update - these things happen from time to time as everyone has different needs and different programs installed. it has happened to me in the past that updates have broken my machine - just roll it back, turn off the updates for a while. after about a month turn updated back on - by then there is usually an update that fixes the update - if you see what i mean.

Turn off the automatic phising filter, you can still check a website manually by clicking on the phising filter. This solved the 'not responding' problem on my computer.Or if your still having problems uninstall and download Firefox . The link below shows many other people have had this problem and disabling phising filter resolved this.

Download it again and try re-installing. Used to have this problem but it has gone away now so maybe there have been updates.

One you could do is stop using that Internet Explorer browser. I believe you have a version 6 or lower at this time. If not then upgrade it to IE Version 7. The better options are: Mozilla Firefox Version 2 (do not use version 3 yet, its a beta and still has got bugs) Opera (as high as version 9.xx or something) If your just using Windows XP, I believe these options are possible you.

The only thing you can do is to try and uninstall the updates and see if Internet Explorer starts working properly again. If not I would suggest downloading it and reinstalling it or downloading Firefox and installing that.
