Is it possible to find the owner of a domain name without using whois? Thanks for any help.

Answer:
Not legally. Whois queries contain the only public information about a domain name.

Don't think so, but what's wrong with doing a whois lookup? You could try alexa but it's the same thing really. If they have been privacy protected then you can still contact the owner but you need to do it via the contact details on the whois lookup. This could be the email address of the registrar, but they must pass your message on. Also, you could go to the website, click the view source button on your browser and see if they have put contact details in their websites header!
