How does a cast net work?

You cast it out... with both hands... and it traps the bait...

hey man, if you have never used a cast net before i would suggest you start with a 4 foot or 5 foot net. they can be kinda aggrivating to start off with and after you get the motion down right then jump up to a bigger net. well any ways. all around the out side of the net are series of weights. there is a rope that runs along side of these weights. when the net is casted out, the weights quickly drop the net to the bottom of the pond or river what ever and you will have ahold of the other end of the rope. when you retreive the net the cast net bundles up like a laundry bag the rop closes up the opening holding in what ever the net landed on. man i hope this helps you out a bit. good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience
