    I think a Swiss Army knife is always good to have when going travelling and it is pretty/memorable and practical!! Now they do some very funky ones where you even have a lamp on it and other stuffs...etc. If you want to make a practical gift you could actually prepare a kit with the knife, mosquito repellent, sun block and first aid kit!
