Those rules have not changed. If they changed, the web site would reflect that change. You can put almost anything you want - knives, swords, guns, cutting tools, and so on - in checked luggage. But do not try to take those things in carry on luggage. As you are already familiar with the TSA site, go back and read about the rules for packing "second amendment" items - if you don't do it properly, it could be confiscated. One other comment - - be certain that the self defense item you are carrying is legal in the state to which to which you re traveling. Rules on knives are not the same everywhere. Pistol permits are also not necessarily valid in other states than your own.

I assume you're talking about putting those items in your checked luggage, which is fine. What you can't do is carry them on board. The web page that you refer to makes that quite clear. By the way, the word you are looking for is insight, not incite.
