How much do head chefs make?
-
I've heard figures from 70k to 150k yearly. Anyone know how much a head chef (or executive) chef would make yearly in Chicago? Thanks.

Answer:
Well this site says 46,000 for experienced chefs. It really depends on where you work. Since Chicago's a highly populated and busy city you're going to make more. If you're at a nice restaurant you're also going to make more. A cook at the restaurant I'm a waitress at (A popular coney island) says he makes 17/hour... which is pretty good, he's not a top cook and it's not a high scale place either. You can probably expec to make good money.
