Where are some great places to volunteer for a future medical student?

    Definitely go to a local hospital. There are many areas in which you can voluteer - usually the office has a book of acceptable departments. If you already have an idea which specialty you may want to go into, then see if you can be placed there (if they permit it). The only thing is that in some areas, there's very little patient interaction when you're a volunteer.

Definitely EMT. Training is only couple of weeks. You get hands on experience & paid! It's not volunteer, it's a job. Do this & you will beat your applicant pool. But for volunteering, go to hospital. Search their website.
