How do I become state certified as an EMT-B in Illinois?

I'm a nationally registered EMT and I was under the impression that I didn't have to take the state licensure exam to get my state certification as an EMT Basic in Illinois. ...show more

Go to your local EMS office and they'll have you fill out some forms and send them in to the Illinois Dept of Public Health. They'll mail you back your state license and card. I just did this a few weeks ago.
