What is nursing like?

Can anyone tell me what nursing school is like? Just like an idea of what you lean and when?

  It is great and also very hard! You learn a lot about life through the people you are privileged to provide nursing care for in your clinical rotations! Don't be afraid to go ahead and start reading your Fundamentals textbook and start practicing listening to breathing and counting pulses and breath rates! My first instructor taught us to use the ring finger and middle finger to find pulses rather than the index finger! Never forget you carry your most important tools with you onto the floor and into the classroom, your eyes, ears, nose and your brain! Look for nursing sites as resources and use the CD's and resource websites that come with your books. Our teachers often use questions that are the same or similar on exams. Your fellow students are also great as well to help bolster you and for studying with to prepare for exams. Get plenty of rest before you start and be prepared for lots and lots of reading!
