I've done both. My opinion would be that you would get a better grasp on trauma working on an ambulance. Do you have any volunteer fire companies near you that you could join? You didnt mention where you live but in my state Emt's make anywhere from $10 to $13 an hour. CNA's here make about $9. Also I would think it's much easier to do a bridge from Paramedic to RN. And it would be easier to keep up your continuing Ed classes if you belonged to a fire co. (They also will train you for free)
