Whats the difference between a business objective and a marketing objective?

  A marketing objective pertains strictly to marketing. And it might not even involve measures of profitability. For example: In the next 30 days, we will generate 200 new leads. --or-- In fiscal year 2014, we will sell 1,000 widgets. A business objective may have nothing to do with marketing. And it's more likely to look at profit than at achieving marketing objectives. For example: We will reduce production time per widget by 3 days. --or-- In fiscal year 2014, we will have a net profit of $1 million. The point, again, is that marketing objectives relate to marketing efforts and results--not to other company functions and generally not even to profits. Hope that helps.
