1.Log into your hotmail account 2. look in the upper right hand corner and click on Options 3. go down to more options and click 4. look under manage your account and click view and edit your personal information 5. click on close account on the bottom of the list

Hotmail is a bastard, they don't let you terminate your account the way Yahoo does.
