Why has my msn stopped working completely?

How do I fix this error I get after upgrading MSN? "Windows Live Communications Platform has stopped working"?

It gives me a dialogue box with that error and only one option to close MSN, but if I minimize the box MSN will stay open for a little while. How do I fix it?
Answer:

uninstall and reinstall the MSN messenger from control panel add remove program when you do this you will have the latest MSN and you would not have this problem again you can download the msn from www.msn.com and look for messenger
