How can i get started in raceing??

I have a family member who works for a Nascar team and a friend who works for a Nascar team. They will both tell you that calling up an under funded team (when you're at least 18) and volunteering/working for free is the best way to get your foot in the door. They both started out sweeping floors/being gophers etc. They are both now highly paid crew members of respected teams. If you want to stick to driving only; I agree with some of the others that go-karts would be the way to get your feet wet. Racing is expensive no matter what form so be prepared.

Staying on at school and learning to spell " racing " might be a good start. 6 letters. Come on !

let me tell you its an real good way.....just do 2 things ....practise on go-karts........and try contacting danica parker....like ......i knw women are really emotional and u can make use of tht ;-).........she is very proud tht she is an woman and is racing in NASCAR.....and she would be more proud and rather happy in helping other girls become women racing drivers..........so the best thing u can do is promote ur self.......ppl are always ready to hear heroic stories.....of an woman fighting the big bad world to secure an place for herself.....in NASCAR......fighting with all the men(except her boyfriend) to win the NASCAR wrld cship.........lol!!.....and hence u will get a lot of sponsors......like cosmetic company's may be really intrstd in u..........we men/boys are poor guys......we dont even get sonsors.......the only cosmetics we use is shving cream.....and no one else wanna sponsor us......even shaving cream company's have roped in celebs frm show biz.......:-(

you will get your permit in 2 years and then you can see what its like to drive on the road and then you can move forward.

Look for a 2nd hand racing Kart. Find your nearest Kart track and with a relatives help start racing, if you're good, you will get noticed.

Probably the best way will be to contact NASCAR at their web site. I know they do have some programs that help drivers get started racing. I also know they are trying to promote women getting into racing. Another person you might try contacting is Danika Patrick at her web site. I know she is an Indy car driver, but she might be able to help you. She's the one Indy car driver I'd like to see more into NASCAR. Don't know which would be more fun the race, or the fight between her and Smoke (Tony Stewart) after every race. Cause you can bet they'll be going at it until he learns she is not going to take it when he tries to put her in the wall.
