I would say Social marketing like Facebook, Twitter and My space is a good start. Commenting on forums about dating and also blogs can get you backlinks as well as traffic. Article marketing will improve your exposure. I could go on for ever. If you do a search for How to get traffic on the search engines you will find lots of free info. SEO is not that hard, just put your keywords in the title, description and h1 tag and in your content thats SEO if you want to check out Google Webmaster guide it will tell you what to do to rank well in the search engine.

Using social network sites is probably as good as it gets... FACEBOOK, TWITEER and MYSPACE are the best options... I suggest you make absolutely certain that you have the website look perfect. the other suggestion is to make sure you offer something that others dont otherwise you are just one more needle in the stack...
