Is there anyway to get free homeschooling ideas?

    I am excited for you! I regret starting so late with my son. He was in public school until 8th grade and our family missed so much by staying with the 'professionals'. (smile) Ok. Here goes with list: Number one resource is the library. The library is so much more than books. They have audio, video, cd roms, and even computers set up for children with assortment of learning games. Choosing which ones to use, out of the abundance of resources, is the problem. You may also request cd rom programs for Christmas presents.

Gosh...there are SO MANY great sites full of ideas for OFFLINE activities, as well as online activities. My daughter is 7 now, and I've only just begun to allow her to use the online options. I've created a list of links on a blog: http://jenpb.blogspot.com/ You can also find great ideas through the clickschooling. You have to subscribe to the Yahoo Group to get access, but it's worth the effort. She sends out a new link just about every day, and there's an archive by subject. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ClickSchooling/

I have a few free homeschool resource links listed in an online directory I keep. I particularly recommend St. Aidens - it is a site that is run by a single homeschool mom in S. Africa. She provides a lot of freebies in the form of e-books - especially for younger students.
