What G.C.S.E's do i need to become a nursery nurse?

You need average to good G.C.S.E results to apply to college to do the N.N.E.B course which is internationally recognised. This is normally a two year full time course or you can now do the NVQ course which allows you to work while training. you can do a btec,NNEB diploma or nvq level 3 to be a fully qualifed nursery nurse. i did the nneb diploma, which is a full time course for 2 years, in which you do spend half your time in college and half in placement. the placements are private day care nursery, nursery school and reception class and also 2 weeks with a family. with the nvq you wok in a nursery whist studing . You mainly do your written work in your own time, and occassionally see a tutor. personally i think the nneb offers the best course in regards to experience and support, but you really need to decide which is best for you

Hi, i'm doing a diploma in childcare at the moment. To get onto the course that i'm doing I needed 5 or more GCSEs at grade c or above. I suggest you do health and social care if that's an option at the school that you are going to. In health and social care you will learn about development of children and other things to do with health and well-being. Choose other subjects that you'll be good at. You will probably need to have some GCSE based on childcare

Sociology or Health and Social care would be good if your school offer it, Food technology may also help as you will have knowledge on different eating needs of children such as gluten free etc and the best nutrition for children.
