Airframe and Powerplant testing?

What kind of other jobs can I get with my AIRFRAME AND POWERPLANT LICENSE?

  • Im searching for jobs in which i can use my FAA issued airframe and power-plant license.

  • Answer:

There's lot's of A&P techs who work on transit systems. The pay is better. A subway car or ALRT is similar to an airplane in how it's made, so aircraft specialists are right at home working on these. Also A&P's work on hydrofoils and race cars which also use airplane technology.

Jobs other than what? You're not too clear. Jobs other than working on aircraft or aircraft components? None I can think of that would require an A&P certificate unless you also happen to be a commercial pilot or have an engineering degree. There are some jobs that require both. Have you considered aircraft manufacturers or restoration shops in addition to maintenance outfits doing work for flight operations? How about the FAA, unless you have no experience other than A&P school? Alaska isn't a bad place to look for work. I spent 9 years there. They always need mechanics up there, at least in the summer.
