How can I lower my heart rate?

How can i get a lower heart rate?

  • it says that a heart rate above 85beats per minute can be dangerous. is that true? mine is 106 beats per minute? what can i do to fix this?

  • Answer:

normal HR is 60-100 beats/minute. If you just finished doing exercise or something that got your rate up then you should wait five minutes before checking your pulse. We are all different. My baseline pulse (what it is normally while resting) is 57-60/minute. However 85 may be normal for you. Anything drastically outside the baseline pulse while your'e resting could be considered abnormal if it persists for a number of weeks. For me abnormal could be like 80 or 85 while for you 80 or 85 could be normal. Regular exercise strengthens the heart and the heart then doesnt have to work as hard to produce the same results as before.

First off, a normal heart rate is 60-100 beats per minute. When you are excited, or scared, or exercising, then your heart rate will rise quite a bit higher. If you are relaxing at home, watching TV, and you check your pulse and it's still so high, then you might want to make a doctor's appointment to see if there is anything else going on. Losing weight and getting regular exercise as well as avoiding caffeine can all help lower your heart rate.
