Where is a good fishing spot in north Sacramento?

I'm in the KC area (on the KS side) and am an avid bass fisherman. First of all, there will be little if any areas to go in less than 20 mins. If you want to find some good little ponds or even a decent lake you will have to get into the suburbs at least and that will require 20 mins. or more from Waldo/Brookside area. Another option would be to contact/join a local B.A.S.S. club in your area and make friends with and get to know some of those guys, they will have a boat and they obviously like to and know how to fish and will be able to take you to good lakes and may know some of the local farmers who have ponds too.
