Have you ever caught a Guadalupe bass?

Anyone caught a Guadalupe Bass?

  • Where? Using what bait? How big?

  • Answer:

I have caught about 5 or 6 lifetime in the Comal river at Landa Park campground in New Braunfels. The first time I caught one was about 20 years ago the last time I caught one was about 15 years ago. I probably caught all of them on a live grasshopper, cricket or live worm (grub or earth). My mom used to take us camping there and I would fish with whatever bait I could catch bare-handed. Size-wise I would be amazed if I caught one bigger than a pound or 12 inches. It was a long time ago. But it's the State fish of Texas! So that makes even the smallest ones 10 pounds! Good luck. p.s. I believe the kentucky bass looks very similar to the guadalupe, which I have caught a few out here on the Tx/La border.
