  Depends on the size of the item. Smaller items are cheaper via the post office, larger items through shipping companies such as UPS, DHL, etc. If it is a very large item you can send it via Greyhound bus. You will have to find proper packaging ( sturdy box, bubble wrap etc.) on your own and once it is packed then get an estimate of shipping charges from different companies. There is a shipping wizard right on ebay - when you list an item, it is right above where you put in your shipping charge for the item - this gives you an idea of how much it will cost to ship the item. You have to know the weight and size in order to have a good idea of how much to charge. What I want to know is how did you determine the shipping price for the buyer when you didn't do all of this beforehand? You may have overcharged ( bad for sellers to do, you get bad ratings and can get in trouble with ebay for it) or undercharged ( bad for your profits). This is something you need to do each time you list so you have a very close idea of what to charge for shipping that item. You can get boxes free from local stores, also bubble wrap for free from local businesses ( look on craigslist "free" section for bubble wrap, or call furniture or electronics stores) or you can purchase boxes, tape, etc. from Uline.com, they have the cheapest prices for shipping supplies. You have to figure in your costs for shipping supplies as well when you list your shipping and handling costs, some boxes are very expensive, again - you won't be making any money on the items you sell.
