Most home theater in a box are not flexible for adding other item to it. Check the system if it has an optical input. If it has you can connect an optical cable from you cable box or disc network to the system. Make sure you select the source input when you want to hear the tv program. Connect the home theater in a box with HDMI cable to the tv, if it does not have one connect the component cable for video and an optical cable for the audio to the tv. I still favor getting a separate receiver, speaker and blu ray or dvd player, this way you can upgrade later and have more flexibility. if your tv has optical output then yes if not get your self a freeview or cable box with optical output to the sound system. but only if your surround has optical input (this will be needed for the ps3) some surround systems like panasonic do not do dts over component and some of the ps3 games use dts samsung will do dts over optical
