How do I update my blue ray players firmware?

Why are most Blue-ray players having trouble playing the newer Blue-ray movies, even with a firmware update?

    Never had a problem here, PS3 and a BDP-S550, I get a couple of new disks a week and never a miss. But maybe they try to cram to much info on the disks for some players to handle.

Might be a drive issue. Main reason for blu ray besides ps3 games was the movie audio HD DVD had 30gb Blu ray has 50Gb and a 400GB Blu ray disc is in the works The 20gb IS where alot of the audio goes, so they dont have to compress it as much, think about it, now 7.1 surround sound might be possible in movies (some games already have it)
