How do you find out what your SSID and WEP key are?

How do I find my SSID and WEP key to connect wireless printer to network?

  • The router is a Belkin N1

  • Answer:

Sign on to your router (it's often at 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 ... but it depends on the make) and check the settings. Where these are depends on the model of the router. As the person above says, you may also find the SSID and key printed on a lable on the wifi router... which is OK as long as no-one has changed it from the maker's default. If you have no access to the router login and it's not the same as on the label... you either have to crack the WEP key and use the SSID that any other connected PC will tell you... or reset the router and start again with a new configuration. That's only true if it's your router... if it's someone else's router then cracking the WEP key or resetting the router is immoral and may well be illegal.
