Is free street parking available in most German cities?

  I just ASSumed that was why they called them bumpers. Why put them on a car if you can't bump them? Seriously; most people hit other cars when they are parking because they have absolutely no clue as to the location of any corner of their car. And the sad thing is that they don't care either. After 40 years of driving I know the exact placement of my tires on the road and the precise distance to another car when I am parking. And I have 5 vehicles that I drive regularly.
