Can't change ownership, says new person needs Yahoo membership?

    I believe people can create a Yahoo ID, but not have Yahoo mail. They once could opt out of the Yahoo mail. Now if members could look at the members list for me, I don't use Yahoo mail for my memebrships to groups. All they can see is the Yahoo ID. When signed into the web, that person should click on the mail tab and see if it gives options to sign up for it. Or, what I'd have the member so is create a new Yahoo account, and opt for yahoo mail, join the group and promote them.

They have to do what you just said you were told. They need tohave a Yahoo! account. Think about it. How could someone even be a member, no less be the owner/moderator and not be a member of Yahoo!?? Strange that you're asking here since you even said you were told the new person needs a Yahoo! membership. they weren't kidding. There's no trick or way around it. It's free.
